This Privacy Policy describes Wixel’s policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of your information. This Privacy Policy applies to all of the services and websites offered by wixel.net or its subsidiaries or affiliated companies (collectively, wixel.net’s “services”). It does not, however apply to entities that Wixel does not own or control, such as applications and websites using our services. By using and accessing Wixel services you agree to the Privacy Practices outlined here.

In addition, where more detailed information is needed to explain our privacy practices, we post separate privacy notices to describe how particular services process personal information, which are accessible at the bottom of this notice. If you have any questions or comments about this Policy, please contact us at team@wixel.net

INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE

We collect and use your information to provide our services and improve them over time.

We offer a number of services that do not require you to register for an account or provide any personal information to us. In order to provide our full range of services, we may collect the following types of information:

Information you provide – When you sign up for a wixel.net service or promotion that requires registration, we ask you for personal information (such as your name, email address and an account password). We may combine the information you submit under your account with information from other wixel.net services or third parties in order to provide you with a better experience and to improve the quality of our services. For certain services, we may give you the opportunity to opt out of combining such information.

Content: Some of our services are designed to help you share information with the world. The information you provide to us, when you use such services, is information you are asking us to make public. This includes collecting, publishing and sharing snippets of content, writing blog posts or updating site content. This includes the metadata such as when you posted, whom you interact with, who you repost and many other bits of information. Our default is almost always to make the information you provide on such a service public. We do provide you with settings to make the information more private should you wish. Your public information is broadly and instantly disseminated and searchable through many search engines. It’s also disseminated through our API’s to a wide range of users and services.

wixel.net cookies – Like many websites, Wixel sites and services use “cookie” technology to collect additional usage data on your computer, mobile phone or other device. A cookie is a small data file containing a string of characters, that is transferred to your device. Wixel may use both session and persistent cookies to better understand how you interact with our services, to monitor usage by our users and web traffic routing on our services, and improve the quality of our service. Most browsers are set up to automatically accept cookies, but you can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some wixel.net features and services may not function properly if your cookies are disabled.

Log information – When you use wixel.net services, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website. These server logs may include information such as your device type, request, IP address, browser type, browser language, the referring domain, pages visited, search terms, the date and time of your request. Other actions, such as interactions with advertisements, may also be included in Log Data. Log information is used to improve our service offering to you.

User communications – We may contact you with service-related announcements from time to time. You may opt out of all communications except essential updates on your user account. When you send email or other communication to wixel.net, we may retain those communications in order to process your inquiries, respond to your requests and improve our services.

Links – wixel.net may present links in a format that enables us to keep track of whether these links have been followed and interacted with. We use this information to improve the quality of our search technology, customized content and advertising and to be able to share aggregate click statistics such as how many times a particular item was clicked on or downloaded.

Location Information: You may choose to note your location in some of our Services. If you turn on Location, we may save exact coordinates to help improve our service. You can control your location information settings in your user account settings.

Affiliated Sites: We offer some of our services in cooperation with other web sites. Personal information that you provide to those sites may be sent to wixel.net in order to deliver the service. We process such information in accordance with this Policy. The affiliated sites may have different privacy practices and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

Third Party Services: Wixel uses a variety of services by third parties to help provide our services. Examples include hosting our various sites and applications, and to help us understand the use of our Services, such as Google Analytics. CHOICES FOR PERSONAL INFORMATION

When you sign up for a particular service that requires registration, we ask you to provide personal information. If we use this information in a manner different than the purpose for which it was collected, we will ask for your consent prior to such use. If we propose to use personal information for any purposes other than those described in this Policy and/or in the specific service notices, we will offer you an effective way to opt out of the use of personal information for those other purposes. We will not collect or use sensitive information for purposes other than those described in this Policy and/or in the specific service notices, unless we have obtained your prior consent. You can decline to submit personal information to any of our services, in which case wixel.net may not be able to provide those services to you.

INFORMATION SECURITY

Information security is provided by a credible third party supplier, who takes appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data.

DATA INTEGRITY

wixel.net processes personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected and in accordance with this Policy or any applicable service-specific privacy notice. We review our data collection, storage and processing practices to ensure that we only collect, store and process the personal information needed to provide or improve our services. We take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we process is accurate, complete and current, but we depend on our users to update or correct their personal information whenever necessary.

INFORMATION SHARING & DISCLOSURE

wixel.net only shares personal information with other companies or individuals outside of wixel.net in the following limited circumstances:

Your Consent: We may share or disclose your information with your consent, such as when you use a third party web client or application.

When you make a payment: When you enter into transactions or make payments through wixel.net sites, we will share transaction information with only those third parties necessary to complete the transaction. We will require those third parties to agree to respect the privacy or you information.

To provide you with services: We engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to us. For example, we may use third parties to help host our websites, send email updates about our services, remove repetitive information from our user lists, process payments, or provide search results or links (including sponsored links). We may share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these functions and provide such services. When this occurs we implement reasonable contractual and technical protections to limit their use of that information.

To offer joint services: We may provide services jointly with other companies. If you use these services, we may share your information to facilitate that service. However, we will identify the partner and present the joint service provider privacy policy before you use that service.

Disclosure of non-personal information: We may share with third parties certain pieces of aggregated, non-personal information, such as the number of users who searched for a particular term, for example, how many users clicked on a particular advertisement. Such information does not identify you individually.

To respond to legal requests and prevent harm: We may disclose your information if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with law, regulation or legal request or enforceable government request; to protect the safety of any person, to address fraud, security or technical issues or to protect Wixel’s rights and property. This may include respecting requests from jurisdictions outside of South Africa where we have good faith belief that the response is required by law under the local laws in that jurisdiction, apply to users from that jurisdiction, and are consistent with generally accepted international standards.

Business Transfers: In the event that Wixel is involved in bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, your information may be sold or transferred as part of that transaction. The promises in this privacy policy will apply to your information as transferred to the new entity.

ACCESSING AND UPDATING PERSONAL INFORMATION

If you are a registered user of our Services, we provide you with tools to access and update the personal information you provided to us which is associated with your account. We make good faith efforts to correct this data if it is inaccurate or to delete such data at your request if it is not otherwise required to be retained by law or for legitimate business purposes. We ask individual users to identify themselves and the information requested to be accessed, corrected or removed before processing such requests, and we may decline to process requests that are unreasonably repetitive or systematic, require disproportionate technical effort, jeopardize the privacy of others, or would be extremely impractical (for instance, requests concerning information residing on backup tapes), or for which access is not otherwise required. In any case where we provide information access and correction, we perform this service free of charge, except if doing so would require a disproportionate effort. Some of our services and products have different procedures to access, correct or delete users’ personal information. We provide the details for these procedures in the specific privacy notices or FAQs for these services.

OUR POLICY TOWARDS CHILDREN

Our services are not directed to people under 13. If you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at team@wixel.net. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we take steps to remove such information and terminate the child’s account.
